Maybe you were depressed. Maybe you were suicidal. Maybe you were lonely. Maybe you were just in need of a good story.

But somehow, in some way, discovering Supernatural changed your life for the better. And I think we, as a fandom, should celebrate that.

So here’s my idea:

• If you want to participate, film yourself talking about how Supernatural had an impact on you.
• I know a lot of you might not be comfortable with putting your deepest secrets out there for the world to see. Make it whatever you’re okay with. You can be anonymous - it’s okay to hold up a piece of paper in front of your face or something.
• Here’s a sort of standard format: “Hi, I’m ______. I found Supernatural (through a friend, through a website, etc.) Before I found it, I was ________. Supernatural helped me by ________. Now I (am happier, have friends, am healthy, etc.)”
• Try to keep the video under a minute. I know it’s hard. But I’m not sure how many people will participate in this, so for now let’s keep it short.
• After you’ve made your video, upload it to a site like ImageShack to get the embed code, and then submit it to me. (If you need a how-to on any of this, feel free to ask.)
• You can also submit pictures (with a short message) instead of videos. 
• If people actually submit some videos, I’ll put it all together in one big collaborative thing. Who knows? Maybe someday we could find a way to show it to the people involved with Supernatural, to let them know how grateful we are.

Anyway, I hope you guys think this is a good idea. If you have any questions, just ask.

Warning: I have no idea if this will take off or not. I have no idea if it will come together. But I hope it does.

Never forget that Misha loves Vicki

I see a lot of people girls sobbing over Misha Collins in this post and saying things like I will never find a guy this good, brb crying and buying 20 cats single forever. And I just want to point something out: you know people who talk trash about Vicki Vantoch and say she’s not that pretty? They’re right:

Don’t get me wrong, I think she’s fucking hot, and certainly not unattractive by conventional standards. But she’s not beautiful on the level of Danneel Ackles or Milla Jovovich. She’s not a model- or actress-type. She doesn’t have flawless skin or Repunzel hair and she wears glasses, surely the archetypal signifier of a “plain woman.” And she landed Misha Collins, and I have absolutely no doubt that he loves her immensely. Anyone who cries during a joke fake wedding is in love.

They renewed their vows in drag at Albertson’s and Misha still cried. Heck, he can’t even tell their engagement story without tearing up. He’s been with her since he was seventeen, and he married her because he loves her, and he doesn’t look at her and think “Well that’s okay but I think I’ll trade up for a newer model. I can get a much nicer-looking woman now.” 

I think women nowadays are conditioned to think that they have to be pretty and beautiful or no one will love them. That men are visual creatures, men are pigs, whatever, all they care about is looks, and it’s so not true. You don’t have to be beautiful to deserve love. Remember that Misha loves Vicki. He loves her because she’s smart, funny, unforgettable, and sexually adventurous, and because she’s nerdy and shy and quirky, because she’s a feminist and a writer and an intellectual, because she’ll dress up in drag and renew vows with him at Albertson’s. He loves her because she’s herself. 

How many of Misha’s fans on Tumblr are like Vicki? I’m guessing something like 85%, and I hate it when I hear these amazing young women say that they don’t deserve a guy like Misha because they don’t think they’re attractive because they don’t look like a model. There is so much more to you than what you look like. You’ll find your own Mishas. Just keep on being awesome and keep looking!

My first on-screen kiss, that was bizarre, because you’re kinda nervous - like you want kiss well… with the girl… you want to kinda impress her… then you get there the next day and there are 30 people running around with lights, cameras and boom mics, and they’re like ‘okay, you’re kind of in her face can you lean your neck a little bit more’ and you’re like “yeah?” and you’re kind of in this weird position and as you’re leaning in to kiss you’re like… This is so weird.
